On this fashion photoshoot we were after a simple, elegant beauty that would invite the viewer to complete the story.
Sometimes location fees can be prohibitive, or access to the exact location we would like to have simply isn’t possible. That was the case with this shot. So we photographed the model in the studio with a black background, sitting on top of an old antique dresser with a black top. The background was photographed separately.
Elements like this don’t come together by chance. Both the subject and background have to be photographed with careful attention to the mood and direction of the light, the colors and the perspective or it won’t be believable.
Modern imaging software isn’t a substitute for doing all the work to create a fantastic image. But it does allow us to make what wasn’t possible, possible…
