The tree in this photo is about 1000 miles from where I live, but I’ve passed it a number of times.
While it appears to be dead, it’s appeared that way for a long long time. The first time I photographed it was back in the days of film cameras. I loved the photo. The world of photography went digital not long after and each time since that I would have to pass that way I would try to capture it again in a similar light.
It took about 10 trips and ten years before I finally caught it again in light that I liked with a digital camera. In the process, it’s kind of become an old friend.
